YARD WASTE FACILITY
During the COVID-19 Pandemic: To renew your Yard Waste Access Card you will need to write down your name, address, phone number and the LAST 5 DIGITS ON THE BACK OF YOUR CARD, mail the information or place it in the Township's Drop Box along with the renewal fee. Renewals placed in the drop box will likely be reactivated the same day. If mailing your renewal please allow extra time for mail delivery. To obtain a new yard waste card please print the application, located in the left side bar, include the fee and place it in the drop box or mail it. We will mail you a new card. If you prefer to pick up the new card please indicate so when you drop or mail the application. We will call you when it has been issued so you may pick it up.
The Township operates a Yard Waste Facility at 750 S Humer St, that recycles yard waste into publicly available tanbark and leaf compost. Township residents and commercial tree and landscape companies can now purchase an access card to enter the facility at their own convenience from 7:00 AM to dusk, 7 days a week from March 1st through December 31st. The Yard Waste Facility is closed in January and February.
Access cards can be purchased at the Township Office, Sewer & Sanitation, Room 101. Do not dispose of your access card, cards are renewed each year. Residents can renew access cards beginning February 17, 2020. Access card renewals prior to February 17th can be mailed to: East Pennsboro Township, Attn: Yard Waste, 98 S Enola Dr, Enola, PA 17025. Please be sure to indicate the last 5 numbers on the back of your card and any vehicle changes on a separate sheet.
Access Card Costs per calendar year:
- Residential - $10.00
- Landscape Business within the Township $800.00
- Landscape Business outside the Township $1,200.00
Delivery of Compost and Tanbark
Tanbark deliveries will begin April 1, 2020.
There is NO compost available at this time.
Township residents can order tanbark and leaf compost by completing an order form/release agreement and making a payment of $60 at the Township Municipal Building before delivery. Orders will be accepted Monday through Thursday of each week, with a Friday delivery. If the Friday falls on a holiday, delivery will be on the Thursday of that week. Delivery will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis, with a total of 10 orders per week. Tanbark/compost will only be placed on the driveway of the property. Because of liability concerns, the Township no longer loads leaf compost or tanbark at the yard waste facility for residents. Both items are still available free of charge for self loading.
Leaf Collection Dates and Guidelines
Leaf collection typically begins the third week of October and continues through the end of December, WEATHER PERMITTING. Leaves will be collected the day after your trash and recycling pick-up day. Leaves should be placed at the curb and be free of sticks, stones and debris that could damage the equipment. Due to weather conditions township crews may get behind with leaf collection routes, please allow a few days for them to catch up.
CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION
Christmas trees will be collected for recycling from December 30th through January 22nd. Undecorated trees should be placed at the curb for collection. Trees can also be dropped off at the designated area, outside the Yard Waste Facility from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday.
