REMINDER:
Quarterly sewer and trash bills are mailed to each property owner and business.

January 1    (1st Quarter) - Due the first week in February
April 1         (2nd Quarter) - Due the first week of May
July 1          (3rd Quarter)  - Due the first week of August
October 1    (4th Quarter) - Due the the first week in November

Any bill not paid by the due date on the bill will be charged a 10% penalty and late notices will be mailed to let you know that your payment was not received. 

Please be sure your Account Number on any direct bank payment checks.
Example (YOUNGM001) so that your payment is posted to the correct account.

If you qualify for and receive a rent rebate, you will also be eligible for a 20% discount on your trash bill. You must supply a copy of your rebate check to be eligible for the discount.

Please call the Township Sewer and Sanitation Department with any questions regarding refuse removal or payment at 732-0711.

PENN WASTE of York has been the Township’s refuse/recycling hauler since 2004. 

Based on Township Ordinance trash should not be placed out before 7:00pm the evening before your regularly scheduled pickup day and no later than 6:30am on the day of collection. 

Penn Waste has agreed to pick up one (1) bulk item a week under our contract. This will replace the spring Clean-up collection that we have had in previous years. 
Also available is on request bulk pickup by calling the Township office at 732-0711 for this special service. See below for restrictions.

 

Drop Off of large items at 750 South Humer Street Collection Area

April through October -1st and 3rd Saturday of the month - 7am to 12 noon
November - March - 1st Saturday of the month - 7am to 12 noon

To drop off items, residents must purchase a Disposal ticket at the Township Building Sewer and Sanitation Office room 102..

Bulk Items must be within the guidelines listed below:

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS
- Appliances (freon free), Furniture, Plumbing fixtures, Toilets, Sinks
- Carpet 48” maximum length rolled & tied
- Mattresses & Box springs, Television sets
- Car tires (must be off rims), Scrap metal maximum 48” length
- Discarded lawnmowers must have gasoline and motor oil removed.

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS
Paints, Stains, Chemicals and Liquids
- Batteries, Automobile parts
- Household Hazardous Waste, Tires on rims
- Commercial / Industrial waste, Construction materials & debris
- Drywall, Brick, Block
- Treated Lumber, Roofing shingles, Ceiling tiles
- Concrete, Doors, Windows
                 ALL SMALL ITEMS MUST BE BOXED

Flatten/pull boxes apart, cut cardboard to 15” x 15” or less to fit in truck. Multiple pieces of corrugated cardboard must be tied & placed next to the recycle bin

 

Penn Waste will collect Yard Waste material from Township residents
weekly from March through October. 
All materials will be collected on your current trash day by a separate truck.

Yard waste material will be defined as tree trimmings, shrubbery and any other organic landscape vegetation. Materials should be bundled as follows:
- Items should be tied in easily handled bundles.
- Bundles should be no longer than four (4) feet in length.
- Bundles should not weigh more than 20 pounds each.
- Branches should not exceed 12 inches in diameter.
The following items should NOT be placed out for Yard Waste Collection
- Grass Clippings, Leaf Waste (note: EP Township provides removal service in the fall),
- Dirt or Stones, Fruits and/or vegetables
- Any material in a plastic bag.
