Country Line Dancing Township Municipal Building Gym July 8, 15, 22, 29, Aug 5 and 12 Beginners Tuesdays at 6:30 to 7:30pm Intermediates Tuesdays at 7:45 to 8:45pm Come and join in the fun learning to Country Line dance. It’s great exercise for the young and old. You will need to have boots or shoes that slide for this class where you will learn all the basic moves and fun dances you can do anywhere! Partners are not required and students must be 15 years of age or older to participate. Bring your dancing shoes and let’s learn to dance. TAI-CHI Mondays 6:00 - 8:00pm, June 2 to August 25 (no class June 23 and July 28) This class teaches a method of movement that promotes good health, lower stress, better circulation, balance, improved joint mobility and increased strength and flexibility. It is practices slowly with precision so it can be practiced by a range of individuals. The class meets as one group for all levels. Attendees learn the forms at their own pace. Tone & Trim Outside at Adams-Ricci Park Midway Pavilion All classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays July 22 - Aug 14 8:00 - 8:45am July 22 - Aug 14 1:30 - 2:15pm or chose May 20 - June 12 1:30pm - 2:15pm Classes are offered separately on the following dates and do not build on one another. Pick one session. The tone and trim program is a group exercise atmosphere without the choreography taught by Allen Urich, and instructor of Kinesiology and Health Education. This class includes resistance training and a pedometer walking program. The program will focus on total body strength development and muscular endurance. You will tone your body by using various resistance training equipment. The program will promote bone density, modification tips for weight management. Please bring your own stability ball (55 - 65cm) to class. If you don’t a ball, inquire about it at class. This class is designed for participants 18 and older. Yoga/Pilates on-the-Go! Tuesday and Thursday July 8 to July 31 7:30 - 8:30pm West Enola Pavilion at Adams-Ricci Park Participants are asked to bring a beach towel. Recreation Swim EP Middle School pool Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30pm thru June 2nd Cost: $ 1.50 for adults and $1.00 students for each session. Open to all ages and no pre-registration needed. Pool will be closed March 24, April 21 and May 26 due to schedule school closings. This program is open to all EP Township residents to swim in the Middle School pool. American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR Township Municipal Building Room G3 Each date is a separate course, chose one date to enroll. July 26th 8:00 - 11:00am Sept 13th 8:00 - 11:00am The American Heart Association Heartsaver course is a three hour CPR Certification that will focus adult, child and infant CPR and relief from choking for adults and infants. To receive certification from American Heart participants must complete and pass a written test and a skills test that day of the course. This class is for participants new to CPR and does not qualify for Lifeguarding professionals. This class is geared to our everyday citizens looking to be prepared in emergency situations. Snorkeling Class Class begins 8:00pm on January 21 EP Middle School School Pool This class teaches beginners how to use snorkeling equipment and what to expect when going snorkeling during vacation. Discover Scuba Classes January 28 or February 4 Class begins at 8:00pm in the classroom EP Middle School School This class provides individuals with an interest in Scuba Diving the chance to try the classroom before going through with certification. This class provides knowledge of what to expect if you are going to take a trip to a location where scuba diving is popular. Pre-register with the Recreation Department one week prior to the start date of the class. Cost: $12.00 per person

Open Water SCUBA Diving Certification February 25 - April 7 (no class 3/24) EP Middle School School pool Participants become a certified SCUBA diver complete with a certificate that will allow you to dive anywhere in the world. Certification courses are taught by P.A.D.I. Instructors from the Harrisburg SCUBA Center. Participant must be in good health, at least 12 years old, able to swim 200 yards, and must supply mask, fins and snorkel. If you don’t already own equipment, wait until after the first class. Six week class begins Feb 25th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm (classroom instruction) and 8:30pm to 10:30pm (Pool). Instruction is 6 weeks plus additional open water dives to become certified. Recertification of CPR PR/AED ONLY Saturday February 23rd 9:00am - 12:00pm Township Municipal Building Room G3 This class is for those individuals who have been certified to perform CPR PR/AED in emergency situations, but their certification has expired. This is a CHALLENGE style course, where students study on their own time to prepare to take the written test and perform their CPR skills for the instructor. Please be aware that changes have been made by the American Red Cross to their CPR skills, therefore it is best to purchase new books from the American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley. American Red Cross Professional Lifeguard Certification (Pre-Test) February 29th 6:00pm - 10:00pm (Pool Training) March 1, 8, 9, 15 & 16 8:00am - 5:00pm East Pennsboro Middle School Pool Learn the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. The activities prepare lifeguard candidates to recognize emergencies, respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, and prevent drowning and other incidents. The participant will also be taught First Aid and CPR. Must be 15 years of age or older, in good physical condition, able to demonstrate the ability to tread water for two minutes using legs only, swim 500 yards continuously using various strokes for a least 100 yards and submerse to a minimum depth of 7 feet, retrieve a 10 pound object and return to the surface. Students must be present at all classes to take the test. Books are included with the cost of the class. Class size is limited. Don’t wait to call. Pre-registration is necessary.
