CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING

the East Pennsboro Township Public Works Department will be collecting trees to be recycled and used as mulch at our Township parks. Residents may place Christmas trees in an area where your trash/recyclables are collected. The weeks from January 2nd through January 18th have been designated for tree pickup. Residents are reminded to remove decorations, plastic wrappings and any other trimmings from the tree.
Residents can also drop off their trees at 750 S. Humer Street, Enola. The drop off site will be clearly marked and we ask your cooperation to only place the trees in the designated area.

municipal yard waste management

Municipal Yard Waste Management Assistance Program
To reduce the amount of material going into our landfills, East Pennsboro Township has constructed a yard waste facility, which is located on South Humer Street. Penn Waste, the township municipal waste contractor, provides yard waste collection on your regularly scheduled trash day. Tree trimmings, shrubbery and other organic landscape vegetation are considered “Yard Waste” materials. These items should NOT be placed in plastic bags but should be placed in a separate container or you can purchase biodegradable Kraft bags. Bundles of materials should be no longer than four (4 ‘) feet in length and should not weight more than 30 lbs. The Township crews chip and compost these items and then offer, free of charge, the mulch or compast to our township residents. Currently we have mulch and compost available for pickup at 750 South Humer Street. The facility is opened on the first and third Saturdays from 7:00am to Noon.
