ACTIVITIES FOR OLDER CHILDREN AND TEENS

KINDER TOTS      Township Municipal Building gym
Wednesdays 6:00 - 6:30pm    
Session I:    January 11 - February 22
Session II:   March 14 - April 25
Children will learn stretching, body isolations and actions, motor development skills, song and dance activities as well as creative movement.  Children must be 2 years old when the class begins.  Ballet shoes or slippers similar to Ballet hoes should be worn.
(Sessions have seven classes so you may try the first class for free, only when you pre-register.)
Cost:  $ 55.00 per session

KINDER DANCE    Township Municiple Building gym
Wednesdays 6:45 - 7:30pm   
Session I:  January 11 - February 22
Session II: March 14 - April 25

Kinder Dance blends a variety of physical skills with educational concepts.  Children will learn the basics of creative movement, ballet, tap and gross motor development.  The class is for children 3 - 6 years who are interested in dancing.  Children should ware comfortable clothing and ballet shoes to the classes.
(Sessions have seven classes so you may try the first class for free, only when you pre-register.)
Cost:  $ 60.00 per student

WILD AND WACKY SCIENCE   
Grades K - 5       EP Middle School Home Economics Room
Wednesdays 10:00 - 11.30am      August 1 - 4   
Program topics will include wacky weather, slime day, magical animal science and physics fun.  Children will build sports and amusement park science, test magical sand, create slime, create a vocano eruption and a colorful tornado and more. 
Cost:  $ 50.00 per student Resident.  $ 55.00 per student Non-Resident

COOKING CLUB
Grades K - 5
Wednesdays 11:30am - 1:00pm    August 1 - 4   EP Middle School Home Economics Room
Rather than pack a lunch, students can make their own dishes.  Italian day will feature lasagna and pizza.  Breakfast day will include eggs, pancakes and more.  Mexican Fiesta day will ba a party with tacos, chips and homemade salsa.  Kids Choice Day could include homemade Mac and Cheese, grill cheese, hot dogs, fruit cup and more.  Most of products created in the class will be consume for lunch!  Students may pack dinner and stay with the teach in between classes. 
Cost:  $ 43.00 per student Resident.  $ 48.00 per student Non-Resident

DRAMA CLUB
Grades K - 5
Wednesdays 1:15pm - 3:00pm    August 1 - 4   EP Middle School Home LGI
Drama clud is back with all new fun and adventures.  Students will learn about improvisation, play stage games, learn common theater terms, practice pantomime, create masks, props and possibly scenery.  Family and friends are invited to a final show on the last day of class. 
Cost:  $ 40.00 per student Resident.  $ 45.00 per student Non-Resident

American Red Cross Babysitting – Ages 11+     Township Building, Room G3
Saturday, March 10    8:30 am - 3:45 pm
Your child can become a certified babysitter with this program.  Part of the class will be basic first aid training.  Upon completion, participants will receive a babysitter’s kit with information, a first aid kit and certification.  Please bring a baby doll and a packed lunch.
Cost:  $57 resident, $62 non-resident

LAWN PARTNERS PROGRAM  
Ages 12 - 16 years
Interested in earning extra money mowing lawns this season?  Register now for Lawn Partners.  Join a list of East Pennsboro students willing to mow lawns for township residents who are physically unable and / or, don’t have the time to groom their lawn.  We will publish the list of participants to people looking to hire someone to do their yard work.  Contact the Recreation Department to register at  909-5630

TEEN TRAVELING CLUB
Come join this exciting Traveling Club for teenagers this summer! This program will offer this group of students the opportunity to get out of the house, meet new people, try new activities and have fun a couple of days a week! All the activities are planned for the novice and will require students to try new things. If you’re up for the challenge then come join us all summer! Each day the students will be transported by bus to various locations around Central Pennsylvania, so come prepared to have a summer of adventure! Trips include Hershey Park, Ski Roundtop Adventure Course, Paintball, climbing wall, and outdoor recreation! This program is designed for students 12 – 15 years of age. Registration will open Tuesday, April 13, 2011 at the Township Municipal Building.
                                     Club size is very limited!

KEYSTONE GIRLS STATE
The American Legion Auxiliary, Dept of PA, will hold it’s 65th session of Keystone Girls State June 20 - 26 at Shippensburg University.  This week long event teaches government instruction and leadership for girls who will be high school juniors and seniors.  For more information call: 732-5622.
