PILATES/YOGA Mat Toys in Toybox Workout at West Creek Elementary School Tuesday and Thursday LGI Room 7:30 to 8:30pm Session I: January 10 - February 9 Session II: February 21 - March 22 This isn’t the normal yoga class. This class uses mat science pilates and yoga sequences incorporating all the toys in the toybox. These toys can modify, adapt or increase difficulty of the class moves/sequences. Bring a sticky mat (fitness mat) along with bare or stocking feet. You may register with the register at the first class you attend. Checks made payable to: East Pennsboro Township. ZUMBA CLASS at Township Building Gym Thursdays 5:30 to 6:30pm Session I: January 12 - February 16 Session II: March 8 - April 12 Zumba fuses Latin rhythms and tantalizing moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be FUN and EASY TO DO! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and zest into the mix and you’ve got ZUMBA! Preregistration is required. Class Size is limited No cash payments can be accepted.Cost: $30 for residents $35 for non-residents.

Middle School Pool Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 to 9:00pm Session I: January 17 - Februrary 16 Session II: March 6 - April 5 Session III: April 24 - May 24 An exercise in deep and shallow water to increase body flexibility, strength and circulatory endurance for men and women. You may register with the register at the first class you attend. Aqua belts are available for use during the class along with additional props to help take class to the next level. TAI CHI at Township Municipal Building Gym Mondays 6:00 to 8:00pm January 16 - May 14 (no class Feb 20, March 19 and April 23) This class teaches a method of movement that promotes good health, lower stress, better circulation, balance, improved joint mobility, increased strength and flexibility. It is practices slowly with precision. The class meets as one group for all levels. Attendees learn the forms at their own pace. First time attendees should plan on staying for one hour. KICKBOXING at East Pennsboro High School Old Gym Monday and Wednesday 6:00 to 7:00pm Session I: January 9 - Feb 13 (no class Jan 16) Session II: February 27 - March 28 Session III: April 11 - May 16 Jab, Cross, upper cuts and kicks...let the stress out with this aerobic class! We will do 1/2 hour of kickboxing and 1/2 hour of “Butts and Guts” working legs, butt and abs to get toned in time for bathing suit weather. Bring a set of weights or even soup cans, mat or towel. COUNTRY LINE DANCING at Township Municipal Building Gym 6:30 to 7:30pm All Dancing Levels Session I: January 10 - February 14 Session II: February 28 - April 3 Come and join in the fun learning to Country Line dance. It’s great exercise for the young and old. You will need to have boots or shoes that slide for this class. You will learn all the basic moves and fun dances that you can do anywhere! Partners are not required and students must be 15 years of age or older to participate. Bring your dancing shoes and let’s learn to dance! Belly Dancing Introduction at East Pennsboro Township Building Gym Mixed Level Classes Thursdays 7:00 to 8:00 pm January 19 - February 23 Come enjoy an introduction to an ancient dance that is suitable for all ages and levels. Learn posture, isolations, undulations and the shimmy! Don't miss session one where we will learn a short drum solo. Traveling steps and combos will also be taught. Each lesson includes a warm up and cool down. Bring a mat and something to tie around your hips. RECREATIONAL SWIM at EP Middle School pool Mondays from 7:00 to 8:30pm January 9 - April 30 (closed Jan 15, Feb 20 and April 9) Cost: $ 2.50 for adults and $1.50 students for each session. (cash only) Open to all ages and no pre-registration needed. This program is open to all EP Township residents to swim in the Middle School pool. This program follows the EPASD inclement weather policy. When schools are closed, the pools is closed. One lane is keep open for adult lap swimming. Under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times or NO ADMITTANCE Lifeguards on duty at all times (This program follows the school districts inclement weather policy)

AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION HEART SAVER CPR & AED at Township Building Room G3 Saturday, February 4 8:00am - 11:00am This a three hour CPR certification course that will focus on adult, child and infant CPR, as well as relief of choking for adults and infants. The class is for someone new to CPR. This class does not qualify for lifeguarding professionals. The cost includes a skills book, certification card and reminder skills cars. Recertification of American Red Cross CPR PR/AED Only East Pennsboro Middle School classroom Saturday, March 31 9:00 am - 12:00 noon This class is for individuals who have been certified to perform CPR PR/AED in emergency situations, but their certification has or will soon expire. Please be aware that changes have been made to the Red Cross CPR PR/AED skills; therefore, it is best to purchase new books from the Red Cross. American Red Cross Professional Lifeguard Certfication East Pennsboro Middle School Pool March 23 (pre-test), 5:00 - 10:00 pm March 24, 31, April 1, 14 (make-up day, April 15), 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Participants learn the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. They will also be taught first aid and CPR. They must be at least 15 years old, in good physical condition, able to swim 300 yards using various strokes, swim 20 yards and submerse to a minimum depth of seven feet, retrieve a 10-ound object and return to the surface and swim back to the starting point within one minute, 40 seconds. Students must be present at all classes and pass all written tests. Books are included with the cost of the class. Class size is limited. Open Water Scuba Diving Certification at EP Middle School Classroom & Pool February 27 – April 2 Classroom Instruction 6:30-8:30 p.m. Pool Skills 8:30-10:30 p.m. Certification courses are taught by P.A.D.I. instructors from Harrisburg Scuba Center. Participants must at least 12 years old, in good health and able to swim 200 yards and must supply their own mask, fins, snorkel and textbooks. All additional scuba equipment will be provided. Textbooks are $74 and $169 for open water checkout. Open water dives and additional costs are involved to become certified and are due the date of checkout. Registration is required by calling the Recreation Department at 909-5630 one week before the start date of class. All questions should be directed to the scuba center, 561-0517.
